Breast Augmentation Patient:

The doctor and staff treat you as a friend instead of a patient. They remembered my name after just the first visit. I never wait long and yet I always get quality care.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I have been meaning to write this letter for about 3 months now. I had to let all of you know how extremely happy that I had you perform breast augmentation surgery on me. It was the best thing that I have ever done for my self esteem and my overall appearance.

I had my surgery on June 11, 2003. I have had three children, ages 8, 5 and 2. I nursed all of them for an altogether total of about three years. I loved giving my children the absolute best start I could, but the havoc it wreaked on my breasts was formidable. I was a mid-size "C" cup before I had my children, but afterwards, well, let's just say that I used to joke with my friends that eventually I would become inverted in the boob department.

When I was younger, I never even considered plastic surgery and was overall quite happy with my appearance. While I always thought having slightly larger breasts might be nice, I was happy enough with what I had. Little did I know that I would join the ranks of women who actually lose breast tissue after pregnancy, I am not talking small numbers here, ( no pun intended) but I seriously went from a C cup to an A cup with little, ugly, saggy breasts. I wore all the apparatus to disguise this fact, padded bras, water bras, pads inside my bras, but at night, when it was my husband, me and no boobs, it got kind of depressing. I was really lucky in the fact that my husband was completely supportive of breast augmentation. It freaked me out at first that he would mention it, but it kind of got me thinking... well maybe it is not such a bad idea.

Several years went by and I did lots of research with many friends who had had this procedure done. Everyone was happy with the results. I was surprised at how many people had done this that I was not even aware had anything done! It seems that very few people really are born with "perfect" bodies.

I had decided that I really needed to find a doctor that I trusted, not some quack like in Doc Hollywood, Now, how to do that? It suddenly occurred to me that my OBGYN, Dr. Aliya Khan might have some insight as to whom might be an excellent plastic surgeon. She recommended Dr. Pousti and said that several of her patients had undergone procedures with him and that he was one of the best. He was keeping up with all of the new technology and she thought extremely highly of him.

After that recommendation and checking him out on the internet, I decided to make the initial consultation. He and his staff were so wonderful. I never felt rushed, and even though I had tons of questions, he never hesitated to answer all of them. I also did not mince words, I asked him all of the hard stuff about complications and things. He was up front and honest, which set my mind completely at ease. I had found my plastic surgeon!!

I am one of those people who does not let the grass grow under their feet, so I immediately scheduled the surgery for 2 weeks later, I underwent a mammogram, just to make sure and really felt very prepared by both Daisy and Vanessa who help out in his office. All of the nurses were really wonderful, both in his office, and in the surgical center that he likes to use. My mother is also a retired nurse of 40+ years, and she told me that the surgical center was really the way to go as they were much cleaner than most hospitals.

The day started out early, and I met with the anesthesiologist who I also fired 20 questions at prior to surgery the night before and the day of. He was great and I trusted him completely as well. Dr. Pousti came and met with me before the procedure and though I was nervous, I really felt very confident that it was going to be alright, and it was.

When I woke up, I had no pain, and later I was sore, very sore for about a week and a half, but nothing that could not be managed with the pain pills he gave me. I took them around the clock (even woke up in the night just to make sure).

At six weeks post op, I began swimming again, and at seven weeks I was back playing on my women's softball league. I also played golf and could lift my daughter with no problem.

This was an overall wonderful experience for me and I would recommend it to all of my friends and family. My body is back, better than ever, and my husband tells me that I have perfect boobs! Wow! What a change! Thank you Dr. Pousti for the wonderful job!

Breast Augmentation / Breast lift / Tummy Tuck Patient:

Dr. Pousti,

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU to you and your entire staff!

I am amazed how professional and helpful everyone in your office has been since day one when I called and began asking questions. I had called several surgeons, but even on the phone with their staff I felt like just a number. I knew immediately when I called your office that I was on the right track. The first time I met you I knew I was on my way to a new body. Everything from that point on went ever so smoothly... minus a little pain.

As a mother of two children, born by cesarean sections and who nursed a total combined time of four years, I was definitely in need of a "mommy makeover." I was sagging and flabby and really down on myself. I seemed to have lost who I was as my body changed in a negative way due to pregnancy and breastfeeding. I always thought how nice it would be to have a little tuck here and a lift there... Well, you and your team made my dream come true. I am extremely happy with the results of my tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation and nipple reduction. I feel like a whole new woman. I have a new sense of self-esteem, self-confidence and a zest for life now.

Thank you for an overall wonderful experience!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I would like to let you know what I think about Dr. Tom Pousti and his staff. I had my surgery 4 years ago and would do it again in a heartbeat. I actually wish that I had done it earlier (I had such a great experience). Dr. Pousti and his staff made me feel so comfortable. All of my questions were answered, I was well informed, and everything was very professional.

I would like to recommend Dr. Pousti to anyone wanting to do any cosmetic procedure. He is a real professional who cares about his patients.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I think I have always been unhappy with the size of my breasts. Just in the past few years is when I started to seriously consider breast augmentation surgery. I was considering it because I felt there was something missing to my body image. I'm a professional Polynesian dancer on the side, so I keep in good physical shape and feel good about my body, but there was something missing on top. I didn't feel I had a womanly shape. My breasts were nice but small. For about a year, I had been doing research and meeting with a few different doctors. Then a friend referred me to Dr. Pousti. It was amazing how different him and his staff where. Dr. P's demeanor and professionalism really stood out for me. There was no pressure, and I felt so comfortable talking with him. Dr. P gave me all the time I needed, and I felt I could say or ask him and his staff anything. All in all I really feel that Dr. P cares about me and it showed before, during, and after my surgery. Dr. P spent a lot of time speaking with me and making sure he fully understood what I wanted and that this was right for me. I was very concerned about getting a natural look. I wanted people to question if I had had surgery or not. I have to say my breasts are near perfect. They are exactly what I wanted. I'm having a great time with my new body or the "Girls" as I refer to them now. If I remember correctly Dr. P let me visit his office 3 times before I set the date. One of the best things he did was allowing me to speak with other patients. I was amazed at how enthused and happy they all were. I talked to a lot of women who were having the same and different surgeries. They answered all of my questions and I felt they were truly sincere. Now that I am 5 months out from my surgery, I know exactly how they feel, and have the opportunity to share my experiences with other women and answer their questions. If there is one thing I can say, meeting Dr. P and his staff was a blessing, I truly felt sure and confident about my decision thanks to them. Even after my surgery they stay in touch and make sure I'm ok. I recommend everyone who is considering any cosmetic surgery to visit Dr. P. Two of the women in my Halau (Polynesian dance group) have already set dates to have breast augmentations done. These women are like my sisters and I wouldn't trust them to anyone but Dr. P and his staff. I know he will do the best for them like he did for me.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I had a breast augmentation done three months ago by Dr. Tom J. Pousti in San Diego. I am so glad I got a chance to meet with this doctor. I am so happy with my result of the surgery. I have a small child and I breast fed and my breast became very "ugly" after. Dr. Pousti changed my look! I went from small saggy "A" cup to a full "C" cup. I am waiting for the summer to come along so I can really show them off.

I highly recommend Dr. Tom Pousti to anyone who is interested. I met with several other patients from his office that was willing to share there experiences with me and that helped alot.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I always disliked my breasts but had never considered breast augmentation until a friend suggested I visit a plastic surgeon. I researched on the Internet and made appointments with several doctors. I was very nervous and still not convinced that breast augmentation was right for me, until I walked into Dr. Pousti's Temecula office. Dr. Pousti and his staff answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. I left the office excited and convinced that Dr. Pousti was the right surgeon to perform my breast augmentation. I canceled my appointments with other doctors and immediately made a follow-up appointment.

Two months later, I went in for surgery. The surgical center was comfortable and attentive to my needs. Recovery was fast and easy. It actually gave me some much needed R & R! Dr. Pousti's staff phoned me daily to check on my progress. One week later, I was back to work, teaching 1st grade with minimal discomfort.

I would recommend breast augmentation to anyone unhappy with their breasts. I wish I had done it a long time ago! Thanks to Dr. Pousti and his hard-working staff, I now have the breasts I always wanted but never thought I could have.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

July 18, 2006

I have wanted breast implants since I was 13 years old. I'm now 33. My husband and I are at a point in our lives where we can afford to enjoy body enhancements. We are research-orientedˇwe don't do anything unless we read a book or search the Internet for information first. That's where our body enhancement research began. We looked at dozens of San Diego-based plastic surgeons. We viewed pictures, prices, and professional backgrounds. I was interested in having three procedures doneˇbreast augmentation, lower blepharoplasty, and liposuction of my inner and outer thighs. Dr. Pousti offered the services we were interested in, and I went in for a consultation.

During that initial visit, Dr. Pousti made me feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. We discussed the types of procedures I was interested in and he said I was a good candidate for all three. I left the office knowing that this was my plastic surgeon. His office staff was polite and helpful. All of my questions were answered. I left with a quote and with every intention of returning.

Later that evening, I discussed the quote with my husband, who found it rather reasonable. I told him about Dr. Pousti and how comfortable he made me feel. We decided that we weren't going to look any furtherˇwe found the right doctor. It was easy for me to commit to having the surgery. I had ample time off from work to recuperate, the money wasn't an issue, and I've been waiting 20 years.

We scheduled our surgery and pre-op appointments. My husband attended the pre-op appointment so he could meet Dr. Pousti and ask questions. I know surgery is a serious matter, but the rapport Dr. Pousti has with his patients puts everyone at ease and his sense of humor is a wonderful complement to his professionalism. We left the office extremely confident in Dr. Pousti.

I must confess that there was about a week of worry on my part. How would I look? I could live with a botched boob job, but what about my eyes? What were they going to look like? There was no hiding them. I relieved these worries by trusting in Dr. Pousti. What else could I do?

Then, before I knew it, it was time for my surgery. My husband took me to the surgery center. The staff was great, especially my anesthesiologistˇI have a hard time with needles and IVs. Dr. Pousti held my hand as the IV was inserted (Thank you!!). Dr. Pousti greeted me as I walked into the operating room. I felt at ease. Next thing I know, I'm in the recovery room. I really don't remember anything else about that day.

I know my husband took me home and put me right to bed. But bed was not the right place for me. I needed to be reclined, so I spent two weeks sleeping (not so much) on the couch. My husband was great about giving me my meds and keeping up with the ice pack for my eyes, then as I recovered he would massage my thighs and help with the breast exercises. He is wonderful!!

I'm just over three weeks (25 days) out from my surgery now. I'd say I'm 90% recovered, as far as pain and range of motion. I'm sleeping in bed and am thrilled with my results. My eyes look amazing. Those bags that I've been carrying around since birth are finally gone. My jeans fit better now that my thighs are slimmer. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with my breasts. They are perfect!! They are exactly as I wanted them to look.

My husband and I want to thank Dr. Pousti for making dreams a reality.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I had a breast augmentation on June 05'. I was slightly flat chest and would like to enhance my breast. I was recommended to see Dr.Pousti by one of our close friend that had the same procedure done 3 years ago and I loved the outcome of the surgery on her. The first time I went in for my consultation, it was too good to be true. I have never seen anyone that is so caring and friendly and made me feel so comfortable being there. Dr.Pousti was wonderful to talked to and the consultation I had was good enough to make up my mind that I was the right place with the right surgeon. I am now a D-Cup and is very pleased with it. What I like most about my surgery is the way the outcome wasÍnatural looking breast. I was hardly in pain and did not take pain medication. I was up and about the next day but had to followed Dr. Pousti direction for not driving. Its been a year after surgery and no one can tell that I have an implant. I am so glad that Dr. Pousti was my surgeon and I did the right choice for once.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

When I had the initial consultation with Dr. Pousti, I felt very comfortable with him. I felt that Dr. Pousti was not pushy and was very clear about giving me all the informations that I needed to know about the surgery. And also, he is a very easy Dr. to talk to. I'd never felt threaten or intimidate by him at all. Plus, his staffs was very helpful and nice.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I had dreamt of breast augmentation for well over 20 years. Coming from a family of busty women, I felt nature had cheated me by giving me modest 34B's. Finally, I decided to research top surgeons in the San Diego area and found Dr. Pousti among the top of the list. His being double board certified was most impressive and the photos on his website blew me away! After meeting Dr. Pousti and his wonderful smiling staff, I was more than convinced this was the surgeon for me! I was also able to meet other women and "SEE" his actual work. What was MOST IMPRESSIVE was little or no scarring and they looked and felt so natural!! Since my own surgery in December 2005, I cannot tell you how very pleased I am!!!! My body is in perfect proportion and my self esteem has soared through the roof! THANK YOU DR. POUSTI!!!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am a 34 year old mother of 5 and I recently had twins so my breasts weren't perky like they used to be. I had to breast feed two babies and my cup size went from a 34B to 34A. When people say "kibbles and bits", they are referring to my breasts. I am an attractive woman, and therefore not insecure, but my breasts did not fit my body. I have a friend that had her breast augmentation by Dr. Pousti and they are beautiful so I decided to come for a consultation. Dr. Pousti, as well as his staff, were wonderful. They made me feel very comfortable. I had doubts at first because I needed to know that he had worked on African American women and Dr. Pousti reassured me that he had performed this operation on many African American patients and proceeded to show me their before and after photos.

Dr. Pousti answered all of my questions and educated me on seeing surgeons who were "board certified in plastic surgery". He wanted my best -- he cared about me, not all about money. I knew at that time that he was the one who was going to perform my breast augmentation. If you ever have any doubts, I can tell you that you are in good hands with Dr. Pousti. He is wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone looking to have cosmetic surgery. This man can do miracles --I am very pleased with my results.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

Greetings from Colorado!!! It has officially been 4 weeks since my surgery and I am emailing you as promised. Things are going great here. Just to give you an update from last week when I was able to see you in the office, the left breat is still less swollen than the right but the right one is progressing nicely. The scars are healing beautifully and I am extremely excited to be able to start wearing regular bras again (although it is more comfortable with the sports bra at night, I am still sleeping with it). I seem to be progressing more and more each day. I can never express to you what a wonderful job that you did, you are truly awesome!!! I have reccomended some people to you and hope that they get the pleasure of meeting you. If you could, thank Dr. Crabtree for doing such a good job of "knocking me out", I didn't feel a thing (hee hee). I would also like to thank Margie again for being the absolute best in getting everything scheduled for me in such an efficient matter (and since you, Margie, are probably the one reading this,) THANK YOU!!!! Your office staff is awesome and I would like to wish them and your family, a very Happy Holiday. Once again, Thanks to everyone that helped me through my journey.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I have struggled with my breast size ever since I was little. I just never developed. I put on weight, tried pills, and used birth control to try to get myself to "fill out." About a month before my 23rd birthday, I decided that this was the right time for me. I did a lot of research and found Dr. Pousti by referral of another website. I called and checked on his credentials, I read the testimonials on his website, briefly looked around and read up on as much as I could about the surgery, and decided to call for a consultation. I was nervous and excited, but unsure if I could go through with it.

On the day of my first consultation, I walked into this very relaxing and beautifully decorated office. Dr. Pousti's staff immediately greeted me. I was totally embarrassed to show Dr. Pousti my AA breasts, but with Vanessa in the room to assist, he assured me that I would be a perfect candidate. I was shown before and afters of other patients and I was really impressed. I got to talk with other patients who had just had the surgery a few months before. I was really surprised when Dr. Pousti left the room so that I could ask anything that I wanted. I remember Dr. Pousti coming back into the room and telling me that I had no decisions to make that day and to come back and see him as many times as I wanted. Knowing that plastic surgeons don't make any money off of the office visits, I felt confident that this was not a doctor that would just "push me through the system." He was so caring and genuine that I knew in my heart that this was the right doctor and I had no desire to see anyone else.

I went back to see Dr. Pousti about 5 more times before my surgery to bring in pictures and talk about what was going to happen. I wanted to make sure he really understood what I wanted. He took the time to go through all of my pictures and I felt strongly that we were on the same page.

The last week before the surgery was stressful. It wasn't that I doubted having my breasts done, but rather the idea of surgery and going under. His staff was wonderful!! I must have called twice everyday and talked to Daisy. She was wonderful in calming my fears, even up until the day of surgery.

I had the surgery on Tuesday, December 9, 2003. I was so impressed by the surgical center staff. They were so nice about everything and really calmed all of my fears. I remember lying on the table with the anesthesia being put into me and seeing Dr. Pousti. The last thing that I said to him was that I totally trusted him. I woke up and the biggest problem was not the pain or discomfort, but the nausea. I went home and was mostly out for that day. It was hard to get out of bed, but it got easier each day. By Sunday, I didn't need any more pain medication. I felt so much better. I was up and around writing papers and studying for my finals, which I had the next week. Wednesday, a week out of surgery, I went out with my friends dancing at InCahoots. It was about 10 days post-surgery that I felt completely normal again. My breasts were sore here and there, but I took Motrin and felt fine.

Looking back on my experience, I am so happy that I did this. It was the right time for me. I turned 23 the day before my surgery, I was graduating college, and it was my Christmas present to myself. I realized that you can't do a thing to change anything in your past, anything that's happened up until today, but you can make the most of today forward. I was determined to make the most of the rest of my 20's and beyond because wherever you are in your life right now, you will never be able to get this time back. You really can't put a price on your self-esteem. I am one of the pickiest people and I never once doubted Dr. Pousti or my decision to go with him. I tell everyone about Dr. Pousti. He is the best!!!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am 32 years old. Ever since high school, I wished I had larger breasts. Although they were small, my breasts were at least perky, so I tried to be content. But about a year or two ago, I noticed that they were sagging and flattening. I certainly was surprised that something so small could sag and flatten, especially since I have no children! I bought my first padded bras. Of course, over the years I gave "boob jobs" a lot of thought. I had many, many reasons not to do it (I should be happy with the body God gave me; surgery is scary and painful, the money can be better spent elsewhere (or more realistically, what money?!), boob jobs are for porn stars (at least that's what I used to think); my husband is happy with my body; etc.). But now, the time was right.

It has been three months since my "Boobie Birthday" and it is wonderful to now be a proportionally curvy woman! Physically balanced. Voluptuous, even! I'm happy with my improved God-given body, the pain fades and is forgotten, money spent on self improvement is never wasted and my husband is still happy with my body!

Dr. Pousti and his staff are a wonderful bunch of people. Gentle, kind and patient. I knew I wanted Dr. Pousti to do my surgery before I even met him. The consultation was only a formality. I would not hesitate to return to him for any procedure myself or to recommend him to anyone.

Thanks to Dr. Pousti and staff!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am 25 years old. After having my child my breast no longer looked the same. I was very unhappy with how droopy and how small they became. They didn't fit into even a A cup. I decided to get a breast augmentation so I did my research and found that Dr. Pousti was best quailfied for me. Every doctor visit he was always very kind he made me feel very comfortable. On the day of the Surgery while in the operating room what helped me relax was that he held my hand.

After the surgery yes it was painful for about six weeks. Dr. Pousti saw me on a regular basis he was very caring with any concerns I had. He answered every question without acting like it wasn't important or stupid. I certainly recommend him.

It has only been 5 months the swelling has gone away. I can sleep comfortable again. And most importantly I feel very sexy. They are beautiful.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

It is thanks to my referral to Dr. Pousti that I made my decision to have BA surgery after years of saying I never would! Wanting to feel better about myself and be more shapely in my clothes, I decided to make the appointment for a consultation. In all my years of dealing with doctors (and, trust me, there have been a LOT of them), I have never met a more gentle-natured, kind, and caring man than Dr. Pousti. My husband and I were both very comfortable during our discussion and he addressed all of my concerns. The patients I spoke with who had been through surgery had varied stories but all were quick to say they would do it again without hesitation. His staff is wonderful as well as the surgery center staff. It was a great experience and I have a very natural-looking, proportioned figure now. Quite honestly, the last thing I thought I would ever do was voluntarily have surgery after ten surgeries trying to have children! Well, three beautiful, adopted children later, I made the decision to do something positive for myself and I couldn't be more pleased! I encourage you to do the same!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

Absolutely the best!! He was extremely accomodating to me being from out of state and scheduled everything around my schedule. Dr. Pousti and his staff are some of the most kind hearted people you will ever meet, they are all truly there for you and treat you with the most respect and compassion. Dr Pousti has the best bed-side manner, (he held my hand before I went under and said, "I'll see you in a little while"). He goes above and beyond the "normal patient/doctor relationship and makes you feel comfortable for pre and post-op visits. His wife is his office manager and is the one who I did most of my communicating with prior to my arrival in San Diego and she is an absolute gem! She answered any and all of my questions in a very speedy manner and was extremely helpful at all times. The day of my surgery was great and I left the surgery center in NO pain what-so-ever. The outcome of my surgery could not be better. My new breasts look so very natural and are perfect (36A to a 38 full C or small D). I would recommend that if anyone is looking into any type of plastic surgery to check out Dr Pousti and his staff, they all make you feel like an old friend as soon as you walk through the door.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

After years of being unhappy with my breasts I finally felt it was time to start researching breast augmentation. I found lots of helpful information on the internet and looked at literally hundreds of breasts. I was rather disappointed in most of the before and after photos from many different doctors. I knew I would be a slightly difficult case because I was unhappy with the shape of my breasts and the distance between them, as well as wanting them to be larger. When I came across Dr. Pousti's site I was pleased with the results of his before and after photos from previous patients. I would have been happy with any of the after photos as my own breasts. So I scheduled a consultation.

I arrived excited yet slightly nervous. I had done tons of research, and I still had so many questions. I was greeted by a friendly and courteous staff, filled out a short form or two, then was asked if I would like to speak with some of his previous patients. I, of course, accepted and spoke with several women about their experiences with Dr. Pousti. All of the women were quite pleased with their results and happy to share and answer my questions. I found that two of the women were recommended to Dr. Pousti by their OBGYNs. Being able to speak to women who had already gone through the entire procedure was comforting and showed how much his patients really like him. I then met with the doc himself. He was up-front, polite, and honest which I really appreciated. He explained to me what could and could not be achieved through breast augmentation. He asked me why I wanted the procedure and we agreed that I had the right reason- for me, not for anyone else. I wanted to change the size and shape of my breasts to have better self confidence and make myself more proportionate. I asked him all of my questions from the TUBA (through the naval) method to the risks of the procedure. My biggest concern was loss of sensation. Dr. Pousti was not pushy nor rushed; he gave me all the time I needed to go over any of my questions, concerns, etc. When we finished he welcomed me to come back and visit as many times as I wanted. Some of the other women said that other doctors had tried to get them to schedule a surgery date right then and there. I left without feeling pressured and with a good sense of mind. The next day I called and scheduled a surgery date; I knew Dr. Pousti was the one for me.

I saw Dr. Pousti a few more times before my surgery mostly to discuss sizing. There is no foolproof way of determining how big to go. I went through his photos of before and afters and chose several that I liked for size and shape. But I was slightly discouraged because all these girls were much shorter than me. I stand nearly 6'2" and I wanted to find other women in my height/weight range to compare against. I went online and found that I liked the way 500-600cc implants looked on women with my build. Just to be sure that I wasn't going too big or to end up regretting not going big enough I filled the bottoms of old pantyhose with rice to use as a stuffer. I had found a website that recommended this and gave a table of how much rice was equivalent to 100ccs of saline. I put the rice sacks in a bra that I had bought that I believed to be how large I would like to be after surgery. I wore the rice bra everywhere during my regular days to make sure I didn't feel uncomfortably large up top. After a few weeks I was sure that the rice bra size was ideal.

Having a set surgery date was the perfect motivator to get my body in better shape. As the day got closer and closer I got even more excited. Like an elementary school child makes a paper chain counting down the days until Christmas, I made a paper chain to my big day. There wasn't a nervous bone in my body- I was about to get what I always wanted to have been born with.

I couldn't even contain myself the morning of my surgery. I brought the rice bra with me again to show Dr. Pousti, and I kiddingly said, "Fill 'er up!" as I showed him the bra. I understood that he could only try to give me the look and size that I wanted; there were no guarantees. The nurses were all so kind and reassuring. I met with my anesthesiologist and then went under. Dr. Pousti uses sizers to ensure that you get the size you wanted. He had tried a 600cc sizer and decided it was too big. He knew I wanted to be large, but not huge. I was then given 525cc implants overfilled to 575ccs. I woke up groggy but so amazed. I had a chest! Between the bandages I could see cleavage. Cleavage...me with cleavage! Because my breasts were naturally constricted and so far apart, cleavage was something I had never really experienced. I stayed in the surgery center for a short while after I awoke and spoke with Dr. Pousti. He said everything went very well. I was still flabbergasted.

I was allowed to go home with my friend who was to take care of. For the next few days I was not really in pain, just a state of discomfort. Yes, it does feel like an elephant is sitting on your chest. Dr. Pousti called me that evening just to check up on me. I felt fine, but I found it very difficult to sit up and get out of bed. You never realize how much you use your pectoral muscles and your arms to get up. Keeping your elbows to your side to do everything was annoying yet necessary. Before five days was up I was off the pain killers and going stir crazy (I'm normally a very active person). I had my stitches removed on the sixth day out, and I got to see my breasts without any bandages for the first time. I was so happy I wanted to kiss Dr. Pousti! And then a shower; not being allowed to shower for 6 days was torturous. I saw Dr. Pousti frequently after my surgery. I became one of the very happy women to share my experience with others. I highly recommend Dr. Pousti to anyone. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat! Dr. Pousti and I both believe my results came out even better than expected. I feel they're perfect, and I didn't lose any sensation anywhere. I went from a 34B to a 34DD/36D. Dr. Pousti usually avoids mentioning cup sizes because they can vary so much, so please don't place too much emphasis on a cup size. My small scars are quickly fading away. I now have the confidence I lacked before. My clothes fit and look better, and I feel like a million bucks. Thank you so much Dr. Pousti!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I wanted to write so other women doing their research could read how wonderful of a surgeon Dr. Tom Pousti, in San Diego, is. I spent seven months doing research and interviewing other surgeons in the San Diego area. I had made up my mind about breast augmentation, but finding the right doctor is what it's all about. After meeting with Dr. Pousti a few times, and then having my mother meet with him, I new he was the one. Personable, professional, caring, are only some of the qualities this doctor has to offer. He and his staff are the cream of the crop here in San Diego. My surgery was at Grossmont Hospital, which is a fabulous facility. Dr. Pousti, the nurses, my anesthesiologist, made me feel so at ease that I was not nervous at all before surgery. My end result...fantastic! I am a runner, with not a lot of body fat, and I think my breast look and feel natural! I would highly recommend Dr. Pousti to any other intelligent women that is looking to make a life changing decision like this.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I want to tell everyone what a fantastic job Dr. Pousti did on my breast augmentation surgery. Having the surgery was the best thing I have done for MYSELF. I am the mother of 3 breastfed sons who are in their 20's and I have been married for over 25 yrs. I was a very small B cup and now I can fill a D cup.

My husband has always said he loved me just the way I was and really didn't want me to have my boobs done, BUT he slipped a couple of times and made innocent jokes about my breast size and I thought to myself "I'm going to do this." I did my research and I chose Dr. Pousti. He and his staff are exceptional! There was never any pressure just honest caring and kindness.

I have always felt like I mattered to them. I have never felt like just another patient or just another number. The decision to chose Dr. Pousti as my surgeon was made when he told me that I could come in any time to see his patients and ask questions. I loved the idea that I could see his handiwork with my own eyes.

At my consultation I told Dr. Pousti that I thought I needed a lift and boob job. He told me that I didn't need a lift because the implants would give me the results I was looking for. This is an example of Dr. Pousti's commitment to providing the right thing for you. It is not about the money. Dr. Pousti is all about information. He said he wanted anyone considering surgery to be as informed as possible.

I had brought some pictures of how I would love to look and he kept those pictures. I look just like I wanted. Dr. Pousti ha given me a confidence that I didn't have before. He is a calm, patient, professional, & caring Doctor and he knows his stuff! He is honest about what he can achieve and delivers! My surgery was great. The facility was nice, clean, and the staff there was great. Dr. Rose was my anesthesiologist. He was so funny and sweet. I cannot say enough about the whole experience. I can say this. I would do it all again! My hope is that you will read the many testimonies that are on this website and that you will visit Dr. Pousti's office so that you can see for yourself how awesome he and his staff are.

I can't wait for this summer so that I can wear a bathing suit top WITHOUT pads in it!! I belive in Dr. Pousti's work so much that I have allowed my before pictures to be posted on this site so that other woman will see what a miracle worker he is.

P.S. my husband is very happy that I had the surgery. He is enjoying the new found confidence I have now and says my boobs like beautiful!

Thanks Dr. Pousti

Ever since I can remember, I've been jealous of the women on the sunny beaches in San Diego wearing triangle top bikinis. I always suffered with those horrible padded swimsuits I had to wring out because they were water logged after a swim. Eventually, I had had enough and decided to research my options.

Unlike most people, I was lucky enough to have my first consultation with Dr. Pousti. I spent several hours on the internet looking at before and after pictures of various plastic surgeons and was most impressed with Dr. Pousti's website and pictures. So, I decided to call Dr. Pousti's office for a consultation. I clearly remember the first question he asked me: Why are you interested in a breast augmentation? After my response, he made it clear that he approved of my reason and would not perform the procedure on anyone if the only reason they were considering implants was to impress their significant other. This was what sealed my decision to choose Dr. Pousti. He clearly had my best interests in mind, not only physically but emotionally as well.

After my initial consultation, I came back to his office on three occasions, speaking to other patients and bringing pictures of results I did and did not want. He kept them in a folder to take into the operating room with him, which helped reassure me. He also invited me back to the office at any time to ask questions of him and/or other patients.

The morning of the surgery, I was very impressed with the nurses. They were comforting and reassuring. When I woke up from the surgery, I instantly had a nurse by my side, and that night at home, Dr. Pousti called to check on me. How rare is that!

I have been back to Dr. Pousti's office since the surgery for check-ups and have always been greeted with a smile. At each appointment, I was told what to expect to feel and experience, which helped when I actually couldn't lift my arms too high or sit up on my own.

Now five months later, I am so excited to be able to wear triangle top bikinis! My husband and I even went to the Caribbean and I absolutely love our sunny beach pictures! I can, without a doubt, say that my decision to have breast augmentation with Dr. Pousti, is one of the best decisions I have made.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I just wanted to give my recommendation to Dr. Pousti in San Diego. I just got my BA two weeks ago. He is a wonderful doctor. He is very reassuring and I felt very comfortable with him. His staff is wonderful. The nurses are very helpful, and I feel very comfortable asking them their opinions. I am still awaiting the final outlook on my BA. It is still hard to tell what they will look like.

Breast Augmentation / Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) Patient:

I am a 40 year old mother of three children, from ages 18 to 2 years old. As much as I love my children, I have always resented the way my body has changed after each pregnancy. After nursing all 3, my body was ugly, saggy, stretched out and downright disgusting. I have always been very active, however, all the physical activity would never give me back my taught, lean torso!

When I was introduced to Dr. Pousti and his staff, I decided on that first visit that I wanted to have breast augmentation and tummy tuck. I didn't need any liposuction, that told me it was all SAG!

Since I have had the procedure, life has changed dramatically. I LOVE MYSELF! I love that my husband can't keep his hands off of me. I love that I don't ignore myself when passing a mirror. I love that my clothes fit so perfectly. I love that my friends and family all see such a change, for the good, in me. I know this all sounds shallow, but trust me, I have never felt so good about myself!

Although the surgery itself was tough to recover from, alot of it due to the necessity of having to shorten my convalescent period, I have no regrets. I would recommend to anyone considering this type of life changing experience to go for it! I now have the body that I've always wanted. I wear a full C cup bra, and my torso is tight and flat. 3 1/2 months after surgery, I feel and look better than I ever have, thanks to Dr. Pousti and his wonderful staff.

(From this patient's husband)

When my wife first told me she wanted enhancement surgery, I told her that I fell in love and married her the way she is, that she looked fine and that I wanted to use the extra money we had to buy a new car. Well, after seeing and experiencing the results, the difference in my wife's confidence when we go out, the energy it has put back in our love and everyday life... I have two things to say to Dr. Pousti- THANK YOU and my F-150 can wait!

Breast Augmentation / Labial Reduction Patient:

I am 31 years old, a teacher and a research practitioner. It was just seven weeks ago that I had both breast augmentation and labia minora reduction procedures by Dr. Tom Pousti. Since both procedures are in very sensitive and private areas, I would not go to just any plastic surgeon. I had many friends make recommendations to me as to where to go and had gone to approximately a dozen consultation (maybe more) from Coronado to Beverly Hills. Once I narrowed it down to the top two, I consulted with them again. I chose Dr. Pousti because he had the best credentials, he is a true artist, and he is the most personable doctor you will ever come across. I know I could trust him and I do not trust many people in general. He took A LOT of time to answer all of my questions and provided me with his expertise in assisting me to "design" the most natural look that I was unfortunately not born with. Additionally, he was very nurturing throughout the entire experience. I am naturally a very anxious person and was quite nervous. I never once felt like "just another patient". I always felt taken care of.

After I had made my decision, I collected various pictures of what I did not want to look like as well as what I had wanted. Dr. Pousti studied these photos I had brought to him and then asked me questions and together we designed my new breasts and labia minora. You are probably thinking what is that? It is the stretchy inner lips of the vagina and I was very uncomfortable with the way mine appeared. It interfered with my sexual encounters since I was a late teen. I was embarrassed and I can say I am extremely happy with the results. (I had asked my OBGYN on various occasions if they could do this procedure and they did not recommend it. They even had said that there was a good chance of losing sensitivity during intercourse. Well, I can vouch that that is not true. It is even more wonderful than it was before!).

Before I really speak to my results, let me tell you about the actual day of the procedure. I showed up early on Friday morning at the Grossmont Surgical Center. The nurses were absolutely wonderful! They brought me into a little area where I changed out of my clothes and into my gown and slippers. Sounds like I was about to get a spa treatment, huh? Well, that is how they treated me. I sat in a very comfortable lazy-boy chair. The nurses put warm blankets on me and gave me something to feel very relaxed, but not too relaxed because I was to speak with Dr. Pousti one last time prior to being rolled into surgery. We looked at all of the pictures again and had conversations in regard to my desired results. I couldn't have felt more comfortable! Then I began to feel the anxiety of pre-surgery and the nurses took care of that with a little IV. Didn't feel a thing! Next, I was introduced to the other staff members ~ all very nice and taking care of my every need. Shortly after, I was rolled in but I do not remember.

Next thing I knew, I had breasts and an improved vaginal appearance! I felt no pain. My friend was there to take me home, but first they gave me a couple of pain-killers. It was a short ride home (I slept through it) and I walked up my stairs to my bedroom. My bed was arranged with three pillows propped up and smaller pillows for my arms to rest on. I also had a pillow for under my butt to prevent swelling in the labia area. (I had set this all up prior to leaving the house that morning which I highly recommend). I had all of my pills within reach as well as the remote to the TV and bottled water with a straw. The fridge was stocked and my friends who helped me the first three days were great!

I saw Dr. Pousti on Monday and everything looked great. My breasts were a little swollen and my labia minora looked better than I had imagined! The first week I was slow but moving around by day 5 with no problems. If you are considering a cosmetic procedure, I would highly recommend Dr. Pousti as your surgeon. I am probably the most high maintenance patient Dr. Pousti has ever had "to deal with" and can be very difficult because of my very high expectations, but Dr. Pousti couldn't have done a better job. Now I am back for laser hair removal!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

After countless hours of research and consultations with many different doctors, I immediately realized Dr. Pousti was genuinely concerned with my well being. His open caring attitude was a pleasant surprise and has not diminished since the first consultation. The quality of his surgical abilities surpassed my expectations, which were already very high. His friendly and helpful staff compliment his skill and ability. My results are exactly what I wanted. His policy of providing actual patients for face to face reference interviews allowed all my questions to be answered and proved his expertise first hand.

My husbands comment: Woooh hoooo!

I would recommend Dr. Pousti to anyone considering plastic surgery.

I am a 20 year old female who had breast augmentation surgery on 4/1/2002. I am very pleased with my results and choice of physician. I am only 6 months out, and my incision lines are unnoticeable. I have noticed that my level of self-esteem, confidence and shopping habits have increased. I love the way I feel when I try new clothes on. If I had the choice of doing this surgery again, I would do it in a heart beat with Dr. Pousti.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

For years, I had thought about having breast augmentation surgery but never really imagined myself going through with it. When people I knew began to undergo the surgery, I began thinking about it more and more. The dangers weren't so scary when I researched others' experiences and read about so many successful surgeries. Dr. Pousti was the first doctor I interviewed and despite his full waiting room, he insisted on answering all of my questions. He encouraged me to think about my decision and make sure that I really wanted the change. He wasn't interested in "landing another client" or getting on with his busy day, he wanted me to make sure that I would be happy with my new breasts if I did the surgery. I interviewed with other doctors who didn't make me feel that they cared much and had me in and out of the office in 5 minutes. Some told me to speak with the nurse if I had further questions. This was poor treatment compared to the excellent treatment I had received at Dr. Pousti's office. I felt that I was being cared for, not my pocketbook. The surgery center staff was fabulous, the anesthesiologist was humorous and kept me laughing which eased the nervousness I had. The after care has been great. Dr. Pousti called me the day of my surgery and the next day to see if I had any questions or concerns. I couldn't be happier with the result after just over a month - he did exactly what I wanted, with care and encouragement and that is a true professional!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

At our first consultation with Dr. Pousti, my husband and I knew he was the doctor we wanted.

He is very professional, but he talks to you with patience and is very personable that he puts you totally at ease. He is very meticulous about the procedure, explaining everything in detail. I had complete trust in his ability to sense what kind of result I was looking for. Even though I am only one week post-op, I can already say my experience has been very positive. The girls at the office are very professional, knowledgeable and very personable. Dr. Pousti has an excellent staff. I highly recommend anyone to Dr. Pousti, he will take the time to know you so that there is a complete understanding of what you expect from your surgery. Thank you Dr. Pousti!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I had breast implants 2 1/2 months ago. Before the surgery, I had lost a lot of breast tissue from birth control. I went from a size 34 full C to a 34 small B. Because I had lost so much tissue, my breast became very saggy. I saw several plastic surgeons in the San Diego area, before meeting Dr. Pousti.

After leaving the other plastic surgeons offices, I had always felt like I was just another $$. Some of them made comments like "I can do the surgery in under an hour!" That scared me immensely. I wasn't interested in a race, I wanted someone who would take their time and give me the result I was looking for.

Then I finally met Dr. Pousti. The first trip to his office, I was rather nervous and skeptical based on my previous experiences. I was greeted with smiling faces and by name! After speaking with Dr. Pousti, I was able to meet some of his patients who had already had the surgery. This was extremely helpful because I didn't just get to look at pictures of his work but I was also able to get first hand information on the procedure from beginning to end.

I was very surprised when I left his office for the first time, they thanked me for coming in and told me to feel free to come back as many times as I liked. WOW! I was expecting the phrase that I had gotten from every other office, "sign here and pick a date". I didn't feel pressured for one second at Dr. Pousti's office; instead I was given information on how to look for a credible surgeon in case I didn't decide to have my surgery done there. The office didn't want anyone to make the mistake of going to an un-certified surgeon.

At that point, I knew I had found the office that cared about me and not the $.

Through the next 3 weeks, I visited Dr. Pousti's office regularly, not only getting to know him and his wonderful staff, but also being able to meet more patients and felt more comfortable about the big step I was going to take. I felt like part of the Pousti family, and it was nice to know that he was getting to know me well enough to know what I wanted. Dr. Pousti actually cared about how I would feel about my breasts after the surgery, this was a great comfort. I knew I was in good hands.

I finally had the surgery, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I went from a small 34 B to a 34 D.

My main message for women that are considering this surgery; Check each surgeon out thoroughly; ask to speak with previous patients. Be extremely cautious with any surgeon who won't provide you with references, because there must be a reason. Also when searching for a surgeon, don't just look at the price, make sure that the surgeon cares about each of his patients and cares about the result they receive. Dr. Pousti is that surgeon.

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) / Arm Lift / Thigh Lift / Breast Lift / Breast Augmentation Patient:

Life's Changes

It's an interesting and new feeling being one of the luckiest and happiest people I know. With all of the changes I've gone through during the last couple of years this is just something I'll have to get used to. Fortunately for me, Dr. Pousti has been a huge part of making this possible.

In October of 2000, I underwent a gastric bypass surgery with Dr. George Zorn at the Pacific Bariatric Surgery Medical Center in San Diego California. I'm happy to say I've lost over 180 pounds and have experienced great improvement in my health and general happiness. Unfortunately, not all the damage to my body could be solved by weight loss alone. I was left with huge amounts of excess skin which I needed and wanted to have removed. After talking with Dr. Zorn, and expressing my concern, he suggested I meet with Dr. Tom Pousti, a very talented reconstructive surgeon in the area who was experienced in dealing with cases such as my own. He also introduced me to one of Dr. Pousti's patients who'd recently undergone one of the surgeries I needed. Not only was she full of information, she took the time to show me the work Dr. Pousti had done for her. I was very impressed to say the least.

My consultation with Dr. Pousti was amazing. His office and office staff was warm and welcoming and friendly. The time he had scheduled for me was exactly that, mine. There was no rushing through questions or answers, unlike countless consultations I'd experienced with other surgeons. It actually took me a while to realize he was in no hurry, he was there, for me, and in no rush to have me leave. I felt very comfortable, very important and quite unique. Not only did Dr. Pousti answer all of the questions I had about what would be happening with me, but he happily answered questions I had about him and informed me of things I'd never thought about. He went through photos of procedures he had performed offering suggestions and insight. He didn't offer any miracles; he was honest and realistic in what we would be able to accomplish. I appreciated this because I needed to trust and feel comfortable with someone who would be taking my life in his hands. I have to admit, as I was leaving Dr. Pousti's office, I had a feeling this was the person who would be helping me to change my life.

Living out of the area, Dr. Pousti made a point of letting me know I could contact him with any questions or concerns, either by phone or e-mail and I could see him as often as necessary. After doing extensive research on reconstructive surgeons, and the surgeries themselves, on line as well as in person, I'd made my choice.

I've since undergone four procedures with Dr. Pousti, so far, a bilateral arm lift, bilateral thigh lift, breast lift with augmentation and a panniculectomy, all at the Grossmont Plaza Surgery Center. That has also has been a wonderful experience, full of kind, caring and professional people. His choice of colleagues has been a pleasure and gift.

I'm still a work in progress and am looking forward to my next surgery, and I can think of no other surgeon with whom I would feel comfortable, or trust with this body of mine. My incisions have healed and are healing beautifully and look better one month out of surgery than many photos I've seen of patients of other surgeons several months out. I honestly believe it will be difficult to see signs of scaring as the months pass. Friends and family are truly amazed at my progress and during my checkups to his office, I've been proud to show prospective patients of Dr. Pousti the work he has performed.

Throughout my entire experience with Dr. Pousti, I feel that his number one concern has been for my health, happiness and satisfaction. I feel as though we've been more of a team than just a surgeon and his patient. Not only has he been a most excellent surgeon and a kind and honorable man, but he has been a wonderfully amazing artist, changing the life of a very grateful, beautiful me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Pousti, from the bottom of my heart!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

(This is a letter to the patient's OBGYN Dr. C.)

Earlier this year, I sought your advice concerning breast augmentation surgery. Since you are a respected OBGYN (and female!) who is consistently professional and compassionate, your advice merits respect. Specifically, I asked if you were familiar with the skills and qualifications of Dr. Tom Pousti. You enthusiastically recommended him as a highly competent surgeon. In addition, you testified to the quality of his work since several of your own patients had undergone breast augmentation surgery conducted by Dr. Pousti.

Thank you so much for your advice and recommendation. Indeed, I met with Dr. Pousti and chose him as my surgeon. My consultations with Dr. Pousti were thorough, and I felt reassured by his commitment tomy well-being. Going into surgery, I felt entirely comfortable knowing that Dr. Pousti had a clear understanding of what I wanted in terms of my physical appearance.

It has been 19 weeks since my breast augmentation surgery and I am pleased to say that I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Pousti and his skilled staff have been consistently professional and considerate durging all of my pre-op and post-op visits.

Again, thank you for your candid and qualified advice. You have contributed to my satisfaction with my new figure.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

When I was a teenager, friends and family told me not to worry about my flat chest- that would all change after I had a child. They were wrong, I had my first at 20, and two years later, had less breast tissue than before pregnancy. I could feel my ribs through my breasts.

So, I started doing research, and going on consultations. I went to several Dr.'s before I decided on Dr. Pousti. I was very impressed with the office staff- they were all very friendly and helpful. They made me comfortable. Dr. Pousti was very patient, he was happy to answer all of my questions and he had a picture of a previous breast augmentation he had done for a woman with the same characteristics as mine- FLAT.

With the implants that Dr. Pousti put in, the same woman in the picture had a nice looking C cup.

Other Doctors told me that they couldn't go bigger than a certain size because I didn't have enough flesh to work with. This was not what I wanted to hear.

Because of money problems, I put off my surgery for three years. I wish I'd just done it in the first place, instead of waiting. I eventually went back to Dr. Pousti, because I remembered how comfortable I was with him and the office staff. At my first appointment in three years I scheduled my surgery because I was completely comfortable there.

I had my surgery August 12, 2005. We were late, because I left the instructions at home but we made it to the correct surgery center- finally. The staff at Alvarado Surgical center was friendly, the anesthesiologist came in to talk to me and reassure me that it would all be all right. The scariest part was walking into the operating room and laying down on the table. I guess I looked as freaked out as I felt, because Dr. Pousti held my hand (maybe he was checking my pulse? Either way, it made me feel better) and I was out within about 10 seconds.

I woke up in a recovery room, and the nurse brought me some water and a pill (musta been something strong!). Now it seems like I just woke up and jumped out of bed. I probably did, because the drugs were very good. I got up, got dressed, threw up (empty stomach) and left.

I remember most of it, but I don't remember pain until that night when it woke me up, when I was ready for more drugs.

I was off the drugs four days after surgery. I didn't notice a lot of bruising- so I believe that Dr. Pousti was as gentle as he could be and still get the job done. For about a month, my chest was a little uncomfortable- achy mostly, but once I didn't have to wear a surgical bra, it was fine within a week. Six weeks after surgery, I started running again, and it's great! I actually wear a sports bra now!

Thanks to Dr. Pousti, I now have a very nice 34C. I have no rippling, or any other problems - they're beautiful, soft, even and most importantly, natural looking. Pre-surgery, my left nipple was a little higher than my right, but after surgery, I can't tell that there was ever any difference.

I heard terrible things about breast augmentation gone wrong, but have had nothing but luck with mine. I would refer anyone to Dr. Pousti, and I did- my grandmother!

I'm really looking forward to this summer when I can show everything off, and finally feel sexy. I have boobs! Life is great!

Breast Augmentation, Implant Removal and Replacement Patient:

Dear Dr. Pousti,

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you an extra "thank you". Today (Wednesday) Glenn and I had a consultation with you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your time and patience. I want to apologize for keeping you so long at our appointment. When we came in, their was no one in the waiting room and I assumed that we were your last appointment for the day. After walking out and seeing more people in your waiting room I felt bad for holding you up.

When I got home and was thinking about our appointment, you were so patient with me and all my questions. You did not make me feel rushed or hurried. You were patient, understanding, and thorough. I was also very greatful for your honesty.

Over the past 6 months or so I know I have probably asked you the same questions more than 100 times and you are always so patient and up front with me. You've always told me to take time with my thoughts and not rush anything. Some Doctors would see my situation as a dollar sign and not put the emotion into it.

Glenn and I commented to you about the books in the waiting area and you said your wife put them together for you. You said they are nice to reflect on after some of those more trying days.

Dr. Pousti, I just want you to know how much I appreciate you and what you do. I am a Manicurist and own my own business. Dealing with people day in and day out I can tell you that I really notice and admire your people skills. Also, how respectful you are to your staff. They respond well to you and it shows in their work that they enjoy what they do and who they work for. Most business philosophy's believe that the customers should come first and always be happy. But if you have an unhappy staff how can you have happy customers. So really shouldn't the employees come first. This seems to be the case in your office. Everyone's always happy and very accomodating. I believe that is why I feel so comfortable with you and your staff.

I felt very comfortable with the conclusion we reached and I again want to thank you for being approachable and making me feel comfortable with something I have been struggling with.

Thank you again.
Respectfully,

J.K.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I expressed to Dr. Pousti that my two main concerns were the IV and the anesthesia, neither of which I had had before. I asked if I could come look at the OR. Dr. Pousti said he had a breast augmentation patient the next morning, would I like to come then??(* if he could get her permission) I said yes, this was important, I'll move around my purification to start work late and be in the OR by 10am. When I got to Grossmont Surgical Center, the staff was wonderful. Rose in pre-op took me through exactly everything that would happen on my surgery day. Knowing I am afraid of IVs, she even set up a makeshift IV on my hand to get used to the feeling without sticking me. She showed me the paperwork and talked me through everything as if it was my surgery day. And by the way, when it was my surgery day, she shuffled her lunch schedule around to make sure she was there to start my IV.

When it came time for surgery, they asked if I wanted to watch. When would I get another chance like this? Making sure I could leave early if I felt faint, I said yes. The operation was amazing, it took all the scariness out of it, being able to see it in all its splendor. As verbose as I am, I have no words to describe it. It was breathtaking. Medicine in action. I stood with the patient's friend on a stepstool about two feet away from "the field," or the patient's exposed chest. Once the anesthesiologist injected the sleepy cocktail into the IV, the patient fell asleep within thirty seconds. The doctor and his staff then taped her arms at her side and secured her to the operating table. This was so when the augmentation was finished they could prop her up and see what the final outcome would be before they actually finished the operation. I thought this was a great idea, as the doctor would know exactly how the breasts would look when everything was finished and took all the guesswork out of the procedure. A cloth was draped above her head, finishing the dressing of the patient, leaving only the chest exposed. A rub down with iodine solution to sterilize the field was performed, wiped off, and work began. The first cut was made peri-areolar with a cauterizing scalpel. There was practically no blood and I was very surprised. The opening was about a centimeter and a half long-shocking that an implant could go in that little space! Next the team worked the skin apart with clamps, very gently, coaxing it into a hole big enough to fit the spacers in. The spacers looked like implants but were filled with air instead of saline solution to take a first look at what the breasts will look like. It's like a dry run. Air was injected into the spacers with 60 cc syringes, and the number of syringe-fulls was carefully counted. The breasts were over-inflated a bit, examined and then taken down to their final size. The amount of cc's of air in the spacers was counted and then the other side was done. A big smiley face on the patient's breast boasting, "I'm Smaller!" let Dr. Pousti know which side would take the bigger implant. With the calculations finished, the implants were removed from their packaging, washed, sterilized, soaked in antibiotic and placed in the patient. Inflation with saline finished the job and the team did the final checks. Once it was done, about four rows of stitches were used to sew the wound. The first several levels are dissolving stitches and the stitches you can see are the ones that need to be removed about a week later. Almost everything in the OR was done with no talking; the team knew what was going on and what was expected of them at all times. For the most part I was just listening to Enya playing quietly in the background. After the final stitches, a local anaesthetic was given directly into each breast to keep the pain level low when the patient awakened. They transferred her into a rolling bed and brought her out to the recovery room. Before I finish with the operation story, I must mention one person I purposely left out, and this is the anaesthesiologist. I believe s/he is probably the most important person in the room because s/he is the one keeping you alive. Dr. Taka---- was attentive to the patient's vital signs for the entire procedure, and continually injected things into her IV. He was by no means a bystander; he was an integral part of the procedure from IV insertion to waking the patient. I would feel safe having my life in this person's hands. So out to recovery it was, and when we left the OR after the hour and 20 minutes, I saw a small stool sitting outside which I knew Rose had left there for me in case I didn't make it through. Sweethearts one and all. The patient did great waking up, she repeated things over and over again like, "Did I say it only seemed like 5 minutes? They kept telling me I'd repeat that." She was feeling no pain. A little groggy, the best advice the patient gave me was that the most important thing to her at that moment of blissful disorientation was seeing a friendly face staring back at her. Make sure you bring a friend you'll smile to wake up to.

That did it for me. I went right back to Dr. Pousti's office and scheduled the next available surgery. Those four hours away from work that day were the most informative I've spent in years. Not only did I personally overcome the fear of surgery, I was able to watch another person who wanted to make it easier for me. And this was all made possible by Dr. Pousti, who saw what I needed to go forward and made it happen. I would not trade that experience in the OR for anything.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

My story I imagine is very similar to many others. After having two children I felt that my body would never be like it was before kids. I worked out and got down to my pre- pregnancy weight, however with the weight loss I lost volume and fullness in my breasts. The more I lost the more they sagged. I realized that no amount of excersize and dieting would bring back the fullness I once had.

So after much research I found Dr. Pousti. He was very gracious and kind. He put me at ease when I mentioned my concerns. He never made me feel rushed. When I finally made my decision to have the surgery I was not that nervous because Dr. Pousti, his staff and the surgery center were all very helpful and caring. I have had surgeries before and never had a team of people like these who were as caring and considerate.

Another surprise to me was that I awoke with no pain just as Dr. Pousti said would happen. I have had surgeries before where I was overcome with the pain and nausea that accompanies that ordeal. After the surgery my recovery was very fast and virtually pain free. I mainly used tylenol and just felt pressure on my chest. Shortly after (2 weeks) I was back to my old routine. I am so happy with my results and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Thank you Dr. Pousti and staff for making my experience and results better then I ever could have imagined!!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am 29 years old and it has been just over 2 months since I had my Breast Augmentation surgery by Dr. Pousti. I have 2 kids and nursed both of them and was not happy with the way that my breasts sagged. I had always been small (around a 32B) but after nursing, I got even smaller (down to an A) and was not comfortable in a bathing suit or bra that did not have major padding. I wanted to fill out my tops better. I had been thinking about surgery for a few months and then talked to a friend who had a tummy tuck by Dr. Pousti and just couldn't stop raving about how great the office was and how personable Dr. Pousti was. I called his office and fortunately was able to get an appt for a consultation. My husband and I went together and we were very impressed by Dr. Pousti's mannerism. He instantly makes you feel comfortable and explains everything to you. He really takes the time to answer any questions that you may have. And if you have any more questions about anything, they invite you to make an appointment for more consultations.

I waited a few months after my initial consultation making sure that it was what I really wanted to do. I was able to talk to some of his other patients that had had breast augmentation surgery as well and they were all very informative about what to expect with the surgery. I finally decided that I wanted to go through with it even though I was still a little nervous about the surgery.

The morning of the surgery I was very nervous but once I got to the Grossmont Surgical Center the whole medical staff put me right at ease. The anesthesiologist was wonderful. Dr. Pousti came in and told me what he was going to do and it calmed me down. After the surgery he even called me at home to see how I was doing. I really felt like he cared if I was miserable and uncomfortable. It is so nice to find a great doctor who cares about his patients.

As for the results of the surgery, I couldn't be any happier. I love the way they look and feel. I had told Dr. Pousti that I didn't want any sagginess but I did want to look natural, so I was leaving it up to his discretion about the size. And he did it perfectly. I didn't want it to be obvious that I had the surgery and it's not. As for all of the follow up appointments, everyone at the office has been great. It is nice to go into a doctor's office and they know you by name. It made me feel really good.

So, thank you Dr. Pousti and the whole staff at his La Mesa office and the staff that took care of me at Grossmont Surgical Center. You all did a great job and I really appreciate it. I will highly recommend you guys to everyone that asks.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I wanted to write you so other women doing their research could read how wonderful of a surgeon Dr. Tom Pousti is.

My end result... fantastic!

I am a runner, with not a lot of body fat, and I think my breast look and feel natural! I would highly recommend Dr. Pousti to any other intelligent women that is looking to make a life changing decision like this.

Thank you!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

October 10, 2005

Last March I visited Dr. Pousti's office in search of the right physician to perform my breast augmentation. His was the last office I visited because after having been to other offices, there wasn't a need to continue looking.

I was very impressed by Dr. Pousti's practices. He sees you for the initial consultation, which isn't standard practice. He is honest and allows you to speak to other patients to ensure you are fully informed of what you can expect from your procedure.

My breasts are now beautiful D's and I couldn't be more pleased with my results. They are very natural looking. I love my new figure and so does my husband!

Thank you Dr. Pousti and your fabulous staff. My sister cannot wait to make her appointment.

Sincerely,

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I clung desperately to the side of a rock face a good 1200 feet off the ground knowing I had another 2000 to go. I looked down at my shaking legs perched precariously over tiny footholds. The hustle and bustle in Yosemite Valley below me continued on as usual. My skin was burnt and my fingers bloody from days of serious big wall rock climbing. I would be up here for another few days. The rope dangled loosely at my feet and my partner yelled words of motivation at the end of the rope below me. His voice felt so distant and my mind wandered. I had to fight though this move or I would fall to the piece of gear 20 feet down. I knew the answer. It was my way of surviving the sexual assault the year before. I had used rock climbing as a tool to regain control and love for my body.

The years passed and as each hardship was thrown at me, I continued this grueling theme. I had miscarriage after miscarriage and ran marathons. I lost my father in a single car accident and drove my mountain bike hard down steep mountains in the Sierras. I fought cancer and surfed the biggest waves I could paddle into. I had a miracle baby and fought for my rankings in competitive long course triathlon. The birth of my daughter was a blessing but once again, I struggled with postpartum and the stresses of motherhood. Sports were my anchor. They kept me grounded while they scared me and spit me out. I came up fighting every time.

Last fall I was featured in a Women's Fitness Magazine where the author eloquently spoke of my story. I read it in disbelief. There was a full page picture with me in a sports bra Í my breasts were completely deflated. My daughter had sucked the life right out of them the year that I so cheerfully breastfed her. I knew right then and there for the fist time in my life that I would consider implants. I would look the adversity in the face and change the situation at hand. I had lost the love and respect for my body so many times before and regained it; I knew I must stick to the theme.

I had many reservations. My hippy dippy friends were like, "You're perfect and fit and natural." My husband said he loved me just the way I was. Yet I knew I was ready to take the plunge into the world of the unknown. After years of tree hugging and granola munching, I would delve into the underground world of PLASTIC SURGERY. I searched and searched for a doctor that felt good to me and a staff that really was concerned and cared about my decision and what a life altering decision it was. I wanted a Dr. that actually listened when I spoke and saw me as a strong woman not a paycheck. One night while searching the web, I found Dr. Pousti. I knew the moment I saw him that he was different. He was a warrior like me and would respect my body as a temple. That was it. Before I knew it, my husband was sitting next to me at 6am in San Diego. Dr. Pousti had come in a while earlier and drew my new breasts on my chest. It was great to watch his eyes and hands work a miracle in purple marker. I was prepped for surgery and they walked me away from my husbands concerned eyes. "I am still Holly, just a new and improved version." I told him. I lay down on the operating room table and Dr. Pousti held my hand. As I drifted off to sleep (according to Dr. Pousti), I said, "this is more fun than High School".

I woke with no pain in just a couple of hours and immediately looked down at my chest. "I have boobs!!!" I sat right up and walked right out of there. As simple as it sounds, it really was. No wheelchair, and felt great enough to even dress myself. After a couple of days, I took no more pain medicine and let my family pamper me. Two weeks out of surgery now and Dr. Pousti said that I can start riding my bike. I feel like a warrior goddess once again and love my new body. It was much easier than big wave riding, big wall climbing and long course triathlon. I never though I would say it but it was even more rewarding than lots of things I have done in the past. I feel like I stand taller and even more proud than before and look forward to the next punch life sticks to me. Cancer couldn't even get me down. I was once bald tired and racked with chemo now I am one hot Momma. What a great experience this has added to my list. I am not surprised by the results but my husband sure is. He likes the way I fill out my jammies.

Just think, he wasn't into this!!! Cheers to Dr. Pousti (and staff).

Sincerely,
H.H.J.

Breast Augmentation / Breast Lift / Tummy Tuck / Liposuction Patient:

After years of dressing to camouflage my floppy breasts and saggy belly, and of having to exercise in long loose shirts and full support bras, and of pulling pillows up against my stomach when I was lying on my side (to hide the skin and flab beside me that was my constant sleeping companion), and of swatting away my partner's hands when attempting to "caress" that part of my body - I finally decided to really do something about it. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift, breast enhancement, and some side liposuction. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I am and have always been very athletic - walking, swimming, hiking, crunches, pushups, etc., and yet while my muscles are and were taut... the skin over the muscles, that had originally held all of my extra weight (mostly my breasts and belly), just stayed there. Strange as it sounds, the more weight I lost (35 lbs recently, but years ago 65 lbs after pregnancy) the worse my front side looked. I was and am at my ideal weight, yet my breasts were flat and hung down without any real mass to them, and the skin on my belly skin was marred with stretch marks which extended both over and under my natural "waste" line. When wearing anything other than granny underwear, the underwear would simply roll under my belly and stay there. And, although this is kind of personal it probably applies to at least some of you considering the procedure, I had a pooch of fat over "that" area... the pubic hair area. Nothing I did could get rid of the skin, the scars, and the sagging that started at my breasts and continued down my front side.

On my first visit, Dr. Pousti asked then really listened to my requests. I knew what I wanted done. I wanted all of my loose skin and flab removed, and nice natural B cup breasts with the fullness in the bottom, not the top. I brought in pictures of the big No-Nos, such as those huge bulbous breasts sitting on top of chests looking like hard immobile rocks, and I brought in pictures of natural looking breasts (some of which were the "before" pictures in Dr. Pousti's albums). I brought in pictures of women with flat stomachs. Dr. Pousti was very patient with me and explained everything about each procedure. He kindly suggested/insisted that I come in and talk with other patients who had undergone the same procedures. On several more visits, I came in and talked privately with other women who had been through the various procedures. Every single patient I talked to had nothing but good words for and about Dr. Pousti and every single patient was happy with their results. Every visit with Dr. Pousti and his staff was positive and personal, and I never, ever felt like just another patient nor a dollar sign.

The week before surgery I was very, very excited and very, very scared. Scared that I would come out a surgical nightmare... what if my breasts were too high, too fake looking or lopsided... what if I ended up with a horrid scars under my breasts or on my belly or had lumps of fat here and there that the doctor couldn't get rid of... what if I got infections... what if I ended up with ugly puckers on the ends of the scars... what if the results of the surgery were such that I STILL had to hide my body while naked??? Two days before my surgery was scheduled I almost canceled. I was a mess and, well, I was a big-old-baby (or perhaps a different "B" word would be a more accurate description, depending on who you ask). However, the feelings passed and I had surgery as planned. I woke up and it was as if the good-fairy had waived her magic wand over me. I could not be happier, and none, not one, of my pre-surgery fears came to fruition.

I now have a perfect set of natural looking full size B breasts, a completely flat stomach and a belly button of perfection! I wear a bikini (in public), can wear low-rise pants and shorts with tank tops, and can tuck in my shirts without seeing the usual middle-aged mom "tri-fold" (you know, bulge from boobs followed by bulge above the belt, followed by bulge below the belt). I can look down and SEE my pubic area - even when sitting!!! Please feel free to look at the pictures on the web site (I'm in the bikini "after" shot), but keep in mind that the pictures alone can not tell you how much my self-esteem has changed, or how much I now enjoy putting clothes on, or how much I now enjoy looking in the mirror every morning, or how much I love not having to grab something to cover myself up when naked so no one would see my embarrassing body.

The only thing, and I mean the ONLY thing that I would say to any woman considering the procedure is to realize that as you are talking to those of us who have gone through the procedure and who are (all of us) giddy with our new bodies and boosted body image - is to remind us to tell you about the surgery itself and the recovery. The actual surgery is a breeze from the patient's standpoint. Everyone at the surgery center is sweet as can be and understanding, and you really won't remember much about the ride home. The next day, however, is a different story. When the meds wear off - holy cow - it hurts ferociously. (Take the pain meds before you feel the excruciating pain come back.) The first three weeks are very, very, very painful - more than I had expected. You have to sleep sitting up with pillows behind you and under your legs for the first two to three weeks, then you have to lay flat on your back for another few weeks. You can't stand up completely straight for many weeks. You have to be helped to get out of bed for the first several days. You will have disgusting drainage tubes sticking out of you which can pinch and pull, and when the Dr. removes them, it really hurts bad! But, as with childbirth, you sort of forget about it because you have something so special and so fantastic that the pain fades from your memory. With childbirth you have the miracle of a new and beautiful baby. With Dr. Pousti's surgery, you have the miracle of a new and beautiful body. It is well worth it, and the pain just passes from memory. Yes, the recovery is slow, slow, slow - but then you wake up one day and find you are back to normal. Two weeks ago (at 7 weeks post surgery) I still couldn't completely stand up straight, couldn't walk more than a few blocks, and was certain that I would never be back to participating in athletics. Then, during my 7th and 8th week I recovered so fast and so completely that just two days ago, at nine weeks post tummy-tuck, breast lift, breast enhancement and liposuction - I successfully completed an eight-mile mountain hike. I'm back to doing everything I was doing before surgery. So, if you have the tummy-tuck with or without other procedures - be patient, baby yourself for the first two months, relax and it will all fall into place - and you will be happier than you can imagine.

Oh. The only other downfall is that you will need new clothes. Bummer. You'll have to shop for new pants and jeans. Tee shirts and spaghetti strap tops. Shorts without pleats. Bathing suits. You will have to donate your long and loose fitting shirts and your pleated trousers (as you will have nothing left to fill in those pleats anymore). You have to start borrowing clothes from your high school or college-age daughters or nieces. You may have to go to Victoria's Secret. And (after a full 6 weeks, so don't bother thinking you will even consider it before then), you will have to fend off copious amounts of attention that your husband or partner will shower you with. You will have to "suffer" through the daily compliments from co-workers, friends, family and strangers on the street, such as, "Have you lost weight?", "Are you working out?", "My god, you look great!". Lastly, though loath to admit it... before my surgery, not in my craziest dreams would I have imagined that a rude cat-call from a construction worker (one, that had it been made toward my daughter, would have made me seethe with anger) would later secretly make me smile in awe that I actually somehow looked attractive enough to warrant such rude behavior!

Dr. Pousti is the best. His staff is the best. His work is the best. I never, ever felt like just another patient. His staff was professional and treated me with respect (which isn't easy when you are standing naked in front of the doctor and staff, with all of the flab and skin that you have spent years trying to hide just hanging out for inspection). I never ever felt in any way that Dr. Pousti ever touched me in an inappropriate way, nor that my privacy was disrespected. I have come in for multiple post op visits and he spends as much time and consideration with me as with any of my pre-surgery visits. He is a truly kind and thoughtful person, as well as an awesome surgeon and artist. I strongly recommend Dr. Pousti, and would be happy to speak with or show you the results of his skill in reshaping this middle-aged mom's body into a very nice figure.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am Dr. Pousti's patient and I had breast augmentation surgery almost 2 months ago. I was really nervous. Never done anything like this before. Right away I was welcomed as if the whole office had known me for years. Dr. Pousti is a great doctor! The women in the office are a great bunch of women. Since my surgery, my breasts look great, they feel great and my self esteem has gone so far up, I smile when I look in the mirror. As many men and women these people in this office see, they make an effort to remember who you are and what you had done as if I was the only patient. If you are here -- so far you've made the right choice! Go for it! You couldn't be in a greater hands!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I just wanted to tell you a little about my doctor, Dr Tom Pousti. I had my breast augmentation almost two years ago. Dr. Pousti did such a great job for me. I just want to let you know because I've seen more than a few bad augmentations. He was very professional from the first meeting. He made sure he knew exactly what I wanted and expected. I had no post-op complications and virtually no trace of scars. Two years later, I'm very happy and think it was one of the best decisions of my life.

I wanted to write a recommendation for my plastic surgeon, Dr. Tom Pousti. I had breast augmentation one month ago, and could not be happier with the results! I am a 43 year old mother of 3, breastfed each for 1 year and with a weight loss of 30 lbs two years ago, my used-to-be perky 34C's became saggy 34 maybe-a-B. I researched plastic surgeons in San Diego on the internet, and the name that came up more than once was Dr. Pousti. I went in for a consultation, and I didn't even feel the need to see any other plastic surgeons after meeting Dr. Pousti and his wonderful staff. I also met with a couple of his patients that had just had the procedure, which put me at ease.

My journey was not completely smooth, however. Dr. Pousti asked me to get a mammogram prior to my surgery, since I am over 40 years old. My surgery was scheduled for June 25th, but my mammogram showed some suspicious calcifications and I had to cancel the breast augmentation. You would think Dr. Pousti would say "Well, good luck, let us know if you decide to re-schedule", but he didn't. He was actually the one who called a general surgeon to exam me for the calcifications, then he kept in touch after my biopsy, just to see how I was doing. I was very impressed, there was a chance that I would be unable to have my breast augmentation, yet Dr. Pousti and his staff still treated me like they cared about my situation and the outcome.

Well, my biopsy came out benign and I re-scheduled my breast augmentation surgery. I had looked at before and after pictures, and picked out a lady who had very similar stats (height, weight, age) and also had the saggy breasts with lots of breast tissue, similar to mine. I ended up looking so much like the after picture, I am so happy. Dr. Pousti knew what I wanted, and gave me exactly that!

I have had no complications at all. My recovery was smooth, I have areola incisions and I have experienced no loss of sensation at all, in fact I had more feeling that before...which my husband and I love. I have no rippling, and they look very natural already, at only 1 month post. I feel much better about my body overall now, I am very proportional...which is exactly what Dr. Pousti promised me! I trusted him to determine the amount of cc's that were right for me, and he gave me a great figure!

So, I thank Dr. Pousti and his staff for making this a very positive experience and I am thrilled with my results!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I got my breast augmentation when I was 22 years old. I was very nervous about the procedure but after my consultation with Dr. Pousti, I felt at ease. Dr. Pousti, I have to say he is the best Plastic Surgeon, from his professionalism, to his sweet personality, to the wonderful staff he carries along with him. It has been 2 1/2 years since I had my breast augmentation and they look beautiful. I am always getting compliments on how "natural" thy look. Dr. Pousti is someone I fully trust and if there is anything else I wanted to do to my body he would be the person I would consult with. I want to thank his staff for the warm hospitality they show and most of all to Dr. Pousti, what a talented doctor he is.

Just recently I came in for collagen injections. I have to say I am pleased with the looks of my lips -- just seconds after the procedure. I have the lips I have always wanted. Dr. Pousti knows exactly what he is doing because he is so attentive to his patients.

I love you dearly,

Breast Augmentation / Tummy Tuck / Liposuction Patient:

After having 7 kids I decided that I wanted to change my life and lose all the weight I had put on over the years. I did really good and lost about 70lbs. Imagine my disappointment, however, when I realized that it seemed almost all in vain. I didn't see much of a difference because I had so much loose skin hanging. In fact, I thought I looked worse than when I had all the fat! I finally got the courage to start calling around and looking into a tummy tuck. After speaking to a few Dr's I knew I had found the right one when I walked into Dr. Pousti's office. The staff is fantastic and has always made me feel comfortable. Dr. Pousti is sincerely caring. You just know that you've made the right choice when you meet him. I was so pleased with my tummy tuck that I went ahead and had an arm lift, lipo and breast augmentation!! I have no regrets and the only advice I can give to anyone is to not wait and waste anymore time! I feel like he has given me a whole new life! Anyone would be shocked if they saw my before pictures!

Breast Augmentation / Tummy Tuck Patient:

Dr Pousti and office staff,

I just wanted to send an email off to the office to let you all know how happy I am and how wonderful the results of my surgery have been.

From the beginning, just making the appointment for the consultation with Dr., things just went so smoothly. The office staff were friendly and as I came in for my appointment, I was greeted with smiling friendly faces. They made me feel very comfortable, it was almost like they already knew me, like I was an old friend, even though I was a new patient. My consultation was very informative and comfortable. I had been visiting with other plastic surgeons, always with my husband, and had met with a few that were almost upset that my husband was there. Dr. Pousti, on the contrary to those other surgeons, was very friendly and warm and answered all of my and my husbands questions and concerns assuredly and professionally. We talked openly about the procedures we wanted and expectations of the surgery were understood. The experience was so positive and we both felt so relaxed in our choice with Dr. Pousti with his professionalism and knowledge, we scheduled the surgery the same day.

Although we had to change the surgery date from its originally scheduled date, Dr. called me at home on a Saturday afternoon to talk with me about having to reschedule. He was able to perform the procedures, a tummy tuck and breast augmentation, on the 29th of October at 11:00am. The staff at HealthSouth were great. Pre and post operatively, the nurses took very good care of me and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Rose, was a very sweet man. They all had wonderful things to say about Dr. Pousti.

Post operatively, my first memory is Dr. Pousti standing near to me telling me that everything went beautifully. In a line I have no idea where it came from, my response was, "Yes, but will you still love me tomorrow." A line Dr. will never forget.... it still makes me smile just thinking about it. :) Again the nurses there were very attentative to my pain needs and helped answer any question my husband had. Everything was thouroughly discussed prior to my discharge from the surgical center and the directions were clear.

We had the pain medication filled prior to surgery, as was directed, and the pain was nicely controlled by the medications prescribed.

As the weeks seemed to fly by, each post operative appointment was met, the results of Dr. Pousti's surgical expertise became more and more evident. As with my first consultations, the staff were wonderful and helpful. Dr.'s professionalism and warmth were there each and every time.

I remember the first time I really looked at myself in the mirror and couldn't believe what I was looking at. The breasts that were once uneven and flat, after years of being overweight and breast feeding, were now better than they ever were as a teenager, and then some! The stomach that was once hanging and in the way, was completely gone. I had a flat stomach for the first time ever! I couldn't stop saying "WOW!" My husband was almost in tears because he saw how happy I was...finally.

I am now at about 6 weeks post operative and I feel really good. I have "shown" family and friends and all are very impressed with the results and Dr. Pousti's work. I couldn't be happier with the work that Dr. has done and the professionalism he and his entire staff have showered me and each one of their patients.

Thank you Dr. Pousti for all your professionalism, attention, smiles, and having such an awesome staff there to help you help your patients! If I should decide that I need anything else, you will be the one I turn to. As friends and family ask, your name will be the one I gleefully and confidently give to each and every one of them.

Happiest of Holiday Greetings and May 2005 Be Wonderful!

I was extrememly happy with the results of my breast augmentation. I had thought about the procedure for many years and researched many different doctors. The minute I walked into Dr. Pousti's office, I knew that he was going to be the doctor I chose. His staff was amazingly friendly and comforting and above all, Dr. Pousti made me feel at home. He was there for me throughout the entire surgery and really cares about his patients. I would recommend Dr. Pousti to anyone, he is definately an amazing doctor that wants you to look your absolute best. He will do everything he can to make you satisfied with your results. Breast Augmentation / Liposuction Patient:

Hola!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I underwent breast augmentation after considering it for many years. As soon as I realized that I would never have large breasts, I told myself that someday I would have the surgery. That day finally came in November of 2004. I did most of my research online, but after visiting Dr. Pousti?s office, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted him to perform the surgery. He has a very calm demeanor and is willing to answer any questions. His office is very relaxing and his staff members are all very friendly, in person and on the phone. I had questions regarding the point of incision (through the nipple)?whether it would leave a horrible scar and if it would affect my wanting to breastfeed once I have children. My questions were answered and my concerns put to rest. The surgery went smoothly and my recovery time was quick. I can remember feeling very uncomfortable the first day after the surgery, but every day after that was much better. I was well prepared for my recovery, and luckily had my fiance there to help me with everything. My advice to anyone considering this procedure is to bring lots of pictures to your consultation, rather than just having a cup size in mind. Also, make sure that you have someone who can be there for you during the first couple of days of recovery; it helps a lot. I am very happy with my outcome and love my new breasts. I was always happy with my body before, but now I'm ecstatic!!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

Dear Dr. Pousti,

I was a bit hesitant initially to proceed with this type of elective surgery. It was after hearing you at the seminar describe procedures with their benefits and potential risks that I felt a bit more at ease about selecting you as my doctor. Upon my consultation with you, I was then convinced that you were most qualified and that I would enjoy having you see me through this process. In part, it was your sense of humor that placed me at ease. That has helped to sustain me through each subsequent visit. In preparation for each visit, my husband and I would discuss my progress and decide on the questions we should ask each time. Because of that sense of humor, we would inevitably come up with a set of serious questions but quickly move on to some fun ones. As a result, we have come up with a set of top 10 questions, a la David Letterman style, questions about things that most of your patients might want to know regarding breast augmentation (but might be too embarrassed to ask):

Questions:
10 Do you have any suggestions as to what to do with my extensive collection of padded bras?

9 Will my new d╚colletage reduce my possibility of speeding tickets?

8 Since my implants are filled with salt water, will they rise and fall with the tides?

7 Should my "coming out" party for my new breasts be a formal or casual?

6 Please tell me that you didn't get the water from the Dead Sea!

5 Since I live in the desert, should I be concerned that my implants will evaporate and my breasts shrivel up like California raisins?

4 My husband and I are having trouble naming our new friends. Any suggestions?

3 Will my new implants affect my predisposition to sea sickness?

2 Is there any correlation between breast implants and bead accrual during Mardi Gras?

And #1: Will I float?

Thanks for a job well done and for keeping a sense of humor.

Sincerely,

A satisfied patient with a very happy husband!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

It has been a year and a half since I have had breast augmentation from Dr Pousti's office. I am so happy even now with the results. Dr Pousti made me feel very comfortable about the process from the start and recovery went very well. They don't feel at all like attachments like I thought they would but like just a part of my body. My self confidence has increased because now I feel my body is in proportion. Dr Pousti and his staff do not treat you like a number, but like an old friend, they continue to check in on you well after the procedure(s). That is a quality that is hard to find these days. Thank you Dr Pousti and staff!

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am 39 years old and breast augmentation is something I have considered off and on since my early 20's. For various reasons I did not pursue it until now. I did extensive research on the internet and spoke with a number of people who had the procedure done themselves. My biggest concern was that I would feel or be too big after the procedure. I am runner and I did not want my new breasts interfering with my running program. I also wanted to make sure that they were proportionate to my body and Dr. Pousti did a great job of that. Like an artist, he knew what would look best. I have not started running again yet, but I can tell that it will not be a problem at all. I am looking forward to putting on a bathing suit this summer for the first time in my life. It is a great feeling. Dr. Pousti was very caring and considerate before, during and after the procedure. He was right there with me when I was being given the anesthesia. I truly felt like a special patient and not just another job to him. His staff supports him with the same caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Pousti to anyone considering plastic surgery.

Thank you,
-Caroline

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I am 18 years old and live in Hemet, California. I went to Doctor Pousti wanting breast augmentation. I met with Doctor Pousti several times before scheduling my operation and always felt comfortable and well taken care of. The staff in his office were also very kind and interested in my procedure. I then made my operation date for June 4, 2005.

After surgery, I experienced mild discomfort, but nothing intolerable. Dr. Pousti called several times after surgery to see how I was doing, including a few hours after the procedure. Dr. Pousti always showed how much he cared. After a week , all the discomfort was gone.

It is now October 21, 2005, approximately five months after my prodedure, and I could not be happier with my results. I now have more self-confidence and a new outlook on how I view myself and I owe that to Dr. Pousti. He is a very kind and caring doctor and would recommend him to everyone interested in plastic surgery.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

I first considered breast augmentation in my teens. For years, I considered it as "something I may do in the future" but then one evening, I was in the gym and I looked into the mirror and said to myself "this is rediculous, you should just do it!" I work in healthcare so choosing the right doctor was very important to me. I had consultations with a few doctors, then I met Dr. Pousti. I knew I wanted him to do my surgery in the first 5 minutes of my visit. I have been happy with my decision ever since. The entire process, from consultation to the procedure to the recovery was very pleasant. Everyone in the office is so friendly. Plus, I couldn't be happier with the results. I would (and have) recommended Dr. Pousti to my friends and family. If I ever decide to have work done in the future, I know I will come back.

Breast Augmentation Patient:

Dear Dr. Pousti,

It's been two years since my breast augmentation surgery, and this letter of appreciation is way overdue. I guess the best way of describing how pleased I am with the surgery is by stating how carefree and pleased I feel about my appearance. Before my surgery I used to feel very differently. I felt embarrassed, disproportionate, almost deformed by my tiny breasts, which didn't fit the rest of my body, which was rounded, and feminine. Clothes didn't fit very well, and padded bras didn't help me much at the beach, or worse, with my clothes off.

I heard of Dr. Pousti from a close friend, and I decided to accompany her to a post-surgical appointment. She'd told me about how attentive, thoughtful and capable he was, but meeting him personally really convinced me he was the right doctor for me. I saw Dr. Pousti at least three times before the surgery, where I asked him with all sorts of questions about the upcoming procedure and the risks associated with it. I also spent a lot of time describing to him what I wanted and what I didn't want. He was infinitely patient, and made sure I knew exactly what I wanted and that I was convinced that surgery was the right thing for me.

The one thing I impressed upon Dr. Pousti was that I did not want large "American" breasts. I didn't want people to know that I'd undergone surgery, and my quest wasn't for large, it was for normal. I come from South America, where women are not typically top heavy, and I didn't want to stand out. I just wanted to have breasts, look proportional and feel normal. Dr. Pousti assured me he'd respect my wishes and wouldn't make me "big."

Dr. Pousti also made sure I had the opportunity to interact with other patients, personally view the results of their surgeries, and ask them questions about their procedures. The opportunity to interact with patients was invaluable, as it once again confirmed to me that Dr. Pousti was the right surgeon for me. It also set my mind at ease about the surgery and the recuperation. I was a little nervous on the day of the surgery, but between my boyfriend and Dr. Pousti holding my hand, I just floated onto the surgery bed, and the next thing I new I was awake and on my way home. The road to recuperation was a lot easier than I'd thought, and within two weeks I was already pushing Dr. Pousti's staff to allow me to go running. Dr. Pousti and his staff were also there for me after the surgery. They called to check in on me the day after the procedure, and saw me during the post-op consultations, where time and again my questions and concerns were answered.

Would I do it again? No doubt about it. Surgery has given me priceless freedom from the embarrassment and concerns that I felt about my breasts. Do I have a perfect body? Far from that, but I feel normal in my own eyes, and I no longer feel concerned about how I look in the street, at the beach or in the shower.

Thank you, Dr. Pousti and staff, for all you've done.

Tummy Tuck Patient:

It has been nine months since my surgery. I really could not be more pleased. My tummy is flat. My belly button looks completely natural. There is no more hanging skin. The scar gets lighter every day. Even if it didn't, it is covered by any bathing suit or panties. My goal was to look better in my clothes, but I got so much more. I never thought I would be able to wear a bikini again. This weekend my family and I went to the beach and I wore a 2-piece bathing suit and had nothing to be embarrassed about. My husband has always been "loving", but now he can hardly keep his hands off me.

I am so happy I chose Dr. Pousti as my doctor. Everyone at the office is kind and friendly. The whole experience was easy. Recovery was fast. I had absolutely no problems. I would recommend Dr. Pousti to anyone considering surgery (and I do).
